Our client is seeking an experienced and detail‑driven Estimator to join their team. In this role, you will evaluate project specifications, prepare accurate costings, and develop competitive bids for enterprise‑level security system installations.
You will work closely with project managers and engineering teams to ensure bids are precise, commercially competitive, and delivered on time. The role also involves analysing historical data and market trends to support strategic pricing decisions and improve overall bid performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to produce accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed and competitive estimates covering materials, labour, and equipment.
- Analyse historical project data, market conditions, and supplier pricing to inform cost strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to gather essential information.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive database of cost information.
- Participate in bid meetings and tender reviews, presenting to clients when required.
- Ensure all estimating activities comply with internal policies and procedures.
- Support the Sales team during customer meetings and technical discussions.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience working with enterprise‑level security systems on large‑scale projects (ideal).
- Strong understanding of project cost estimating and tendering processes.
- Experience using Bluebeam or similar estimating software.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- High attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
