The Role
You’ll be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and installation of a wide range of fire and security systems, including:
- Fire alarms (BS5839‑1 compliant)
- Emergency lighting
- Nurse Call systems
- Access Control
Your day-to-day work will include completing accurate engineer reports, identifying system deficiencies, ensuring emergency lighting and safety equipment (such as fire extinguishers and AOVs) are fully operational, and maintaining van stock levels. You’ll work closely with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement team to ensure smooth operations and first‑time fixes wherever possible.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer
- Strong knowledge of fire alarms, emergency lighting, Nurse Call, and Access Control
- Understanding of British Standards, especially BS5839‑1
- Confident reporting, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage stock and communicate effectively with internal teams
- A proactive, safety‑focused mindset
- Full UK Driving Licence
